Film: Fois A Deux (PG)

A painful lesson as class hubris leads to disaster

Fois A Deux (PG)

Directed by Kim Hopkins

3 Stars

A kind of contemporary morality drama about capitalist avarice, Kim Hopkins's film follow Helen and John Edwards's attempt to buy Grey Hall, located next to York Minster, and transform it into a luxury hotel.

It starts as it continues with a very irate Helen attacking the neighbours because she believes they're infringing on her property which encompasses an ancient public way controlled by the National Trust.

With their seven "demented" kids and host of animals, they acquire loans of some £3 million only for the credit crunch to bite - that's all the fault of "bloody Labour."

All in all, a painful lesson as class hubris leads to disaster.
