VENEZUELAN opposition thugs burned a young man alive at the weekend on suspicion of being a government supporter.
Orlando Jose Figueras was set upon by a mob of Democratic Unity Roundtable (Mud) coalition supporters in the Altamira suburb of the capital Caracas.
Video footage taken from a nearby building showed the 21-year-old being surrounded and attacked on the ground by dozens of masked militants, who then doused him with petrol and set him on fire.
The assailants fled in panic as Mr Figueras ran off with his body engulfed in flames.
He was taken to the Domingo Luciani Hospital with first and second degree burns to 80 per cent of his body and stab wounds to his back.
The Mud called the latest nationwide demonstrations on Saturday to demand the calling of early elections with the aim of ousting socialist President Nicolas Maduro.
The opposition is supported by the US, EU and right-wing governments of Peru, Brazil and Argentina.
