A METROPOLITAN Police officer appeared in court yesterday charged with making indecent images of children.

Special constable Linford Braithwaite was charged with six counts of sexual offences, namely the producing of 105 pictures of children in “erotic posing.”

Mr Braithwaite appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court to plead not guilty to all charges.

Prosecutor Edward Aydin told the court that a search of the constable’s property last May led to the confiscation of computers and three phones.

Mr Braithwaite was suspended from the Met following his arrest and granted conditional bail.

Judge Keith Grant told Mr Braithwaite: “I’m releasing you on conditional bail. The one condition is that you cannot have any unauthorised contact with anyone under the age of 16.

“That is not only strangers but members of your family as well.”

The trial will take place at Southwark Crown Court on April 26.
