Labour leader Ed Miliband snubs Morning Star manifesto spot in favour of right-wing press

So called 'Red' Ed refuses to explain himself to left and trade unionists who put him in power

Ed Miliband has repeatedly refused requests over the last four years to explain his views to Morning Star readers in an article for the paper.

The Labour leader has written in Tory papers the Daily Mail and Daily Telegraph and in liberal papers the Guardian and Independent.

But the trade union-backed Morning Star is apparently off-limits, despite the fact that unions which have made large payments to Labour are represented on the paper’s management committee.

Mr Miliband is particularly fond of the Guardian, even though the paper advised its readers to vote Lib Dem at the last election.

He has visited the Guardian’s London offices on several occasions.
