Unite forms anti-cuts war cabinet

North-west activists in Britain's biggest union organise for the fightback

NORTH-WEST England activists announced plans yesterday for a war against the government’s latest £25 billion onslaught on jobs and services.

The activists with the union Unite plan to form a “war cabinet” to fight George Osborne’s plan to kill off services.

Unite North West regional secretary Mick Whitley said: “The Chancellor is set on cutting more jobs and services and we have to fight this head-on.

“This is about survival and mobilising communities. Our members are those communities who work harder for less to maintain vital community services.”
