TRADE unionists and parents will protest outside a London school next week over alleged bullying by the head teacher.
The claims of bullying at Bangabandhu School and the imposition of new contracts under threat of dismissal have led to a long-running dispute with the governors and Tower Hamlets Council.
General union GMB says that a governors’ investigation into complaints led to no action.
Parents backed by GMB members will protest outside the school in Wessex Street, Bethnal Green, from 8.45am on Monday. GMB regional organiser Anna Lee said: “This protest demonstrates just how concerned parents are about how their school is being run.
“We know how badly the school have treated the support staff and how they have ignored workplace bullying.
“But this goes far beyond a workplace issue. At the very heart of it is how the governing body continues to ignore very serious concerns about safeguarding and accountability.”
