The England and Wales Cricket Board has advertised a new position of “people and culture director.”
The job title is not immediately obvious as one that will effect the sporting side of the organisation but it does appear to recall comments made by managing director Paul Downton regarding Kevin Pietersen.
When he was left out of the World Twenty20 squad, prior to his formal sacking, Downton spoke of a need to “rebuild not only the team but also team ethic and philosophy.”
It appears part of that responsibility will fall on the successful applicant, who the ECB envisage to be “an ambitious HR executive.”
The job specification describes the need for “influencing and driving cultural change throughout the organisation. To ensure that the organisation works in an efficient, proactive and collaborative fashion.”
