GLASGOW 2014: Commonwealth Games organisers have started refunding people wrongly charged by a phone line while trying to buy tickets for the competition.

Some people reportedly faced charges of more than £100 from Talk Talk Business, a supplier of Ticketmaster.

And the Games ticketing website was still offline yesterday after being suspended during a sales fiasco.

 

 

FOOTBALL: Samuel Eto’o pledged yesterday to play in two more World Cups despite “fool” Jose Mourinho’s questioning of his age.

Mourinho was caught unguardedly suggesting Eto’o was older than his official 33.

“You may have noticed that the old man was better than the youngsters,” he retorted.

 

 

GYMNASTICS: Britain’s junior gymnasts have scooped the girls team silver at the European Championships in Bulgaria.

The second-place finish secured the first ever medal for Britain’s junior girls team.

 

 

FOOTBALL: Luis Suarez has dismissed speculation that he’s trying to leave Liverpool and insisted that he’s unaware of any clause in his contract giving Champions League clubs priority in transfers.

At a press conference in Barcelona, the Paraguayan deflected journalists’ questions about a possible move to Spain, insisting his mind was focused on the World Cup.

 

 

RUGBY LEAGUE: Bradford have signed teenage forwards Jordan Baldwinson and Mason Tonks from New Zealand for the remainder of the season.

The 19-year-olds went to the Nee Zealand Warriors from Leeds in July 2013.

They’ll return to the Rhinos for the 2015 campaign.
