VENEZUELA’S opposition leaders will demand the removal of Supreme Court judges in congress today after the court withdrew its ruling nullifying the elected parliament.
The judges reversed their position on Saturday after President Nicolas Maduro urged them to think again.
Opposition leaders said on Sunday that the judges had to be removed to restore constitutional order, ignoring their own unconstitutional rejection of Supreme Court rulings banning corrupt MPs from being sworn in.
Even had congress been acting in line with the constitution, it would not have had the authority to recall judges by itself.
Showing its true intentions, the US-backed right-wing opposition is also calling for protest demonstrations today.
Mr Maduro addressed the issue in a speech on Sunday, accusing his opponents of desperately seeking to generate violence once again through mobilisation on the streets.
