ISRAELI army medics are patching up Syrian extremists in the occupied Golan Heights before sending them back into action, photos circulated on social media suggest.
Lebanese website Al Masdar News published the images, taken at night, showing wounded guerillas being treated at a mobile medical post.
According to the source the insurgents went back across the frontier into Quneitra province — the eastern Golan Heights — to return to the fight against the Syrian army.
Tel Aviv has long had a de facto alliance with the al-Qaida affiliated Nusra Front — now rebranded as Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (Hetesh).
Israel holds Syria responsible for any stray artillery fire that falls in the heights — seized from Syria in 1967 — and retaliates with air raids on army positions.
Earlier this year Israel launched a string of air raids that coincided with a major Hetesh offensive in Quneitra.
