Wasps sign Ruaridh Jackson

RUGBY: Wasps have announced the signing of Scotland international fly-half Ruaridh Jackson.

Jackson, 26, will move to the Premiership club this summer following six years with Glasgow Warriors.

“I am very excited about joining Wasps,” Jackson said.

“I have been at Glasgow a long time now but I am now relishing this new challenge that lies ahead.”

Jackson has won 23 caps for Scotland.

SWIMMING: United States swimmer Michael Phelps, the most decorated Olympian of all-time, will make his return to competitive swimming today.

Phelps, whose 22 Olympic medals include 18 golds, has not raced since London 2012.

But he is among a star-studded entry for the Arena Grand Prix in Mesa, Arizona, with the 28-year-old Phelps set to be joined by fellow Olympic medallists Ryan Lochte and Katie Ledecky.

ATHLETICS: Team Scotland has announced a further 30 athletes across three sports who have been selected for Glasgow 2014.

Following an intensive year-long selection period, Commonwealth Games Scotland (CGS) in conjunction with Boxing Scotland, Scottish Disability Sport and the Scottish Wrestling Association named nine boxers, seven Para-Sport lawn bowlers and 14 wrestlers.

The total amount of athletes has now passed 100.

SWIMMING: Tom Daley has admitted it would be “amazing” to win on his return to the London Aquatics Centre this weekend.

Daley will go head-to-head with London 2012 champion David Boudia at the Olympic Park venue for the first time since their memorable 10-metre platform final two years ago.

“It’s been quite a good rivalry (with Boudia) in the past couple of competitions in Beijing and Dubai,” he said.
