Autumn Statement: #CameronMustGo

Anti-Tory hashtag dwarfs official spin

THE tired Tory Chancellor played his last cards to keep the nasty party in power yesterday with some populist pledges, writes Luke James.

But those Osborne punished for the last four years did not forget and gave their verdict on the Autumn Statement by getting anti-Tory campaign trending on Twitter.

The #CameronMustGo slogan shot to the top of Twitter's trending chart as the PM's sidekick spoke to MPs.

It was mentioned 85,478 times - dwarfing the 63,248 mentions of the official #AutumnStatement hashtag and the pathetic number of times the Tory's official #LongTermEconomic
Plan slogan was used.
