The new year sees Vince Vaughn playing a prolific sperm donor whose hundreds of offspring return to plague him in this US version of the 2011 French-Canadian comedy Starbuck.

Directed and co-written by Ken Scott who made the original, it stars Vaughn as the hapless delivery driver David Wozniak who discovers he has fathered 533 children through sperm donations he made 20 years earlier.

More than a 100 of them launch a suit to uncover his identity. In the meantime his girlfriend is pregnant with his child and doesn't want him anywhere near him or her.

This is Vaughn on autopilot doing what he does best, playing loveable earnest losers who mean well.

Despite its feel-good factor and promising premise this rapidly becomes a rather predictable comedy vehicle for him.
