PALESTINE supporters world-wide were celebrating at the weekend after disgraced security firm G4S sold its operations in Israel and Palestine.
Security firm G4S was involved in helping run Israeli prisons and locking up Palestinian kids and in operating Israel’s infamous apartheid wall.
But G4S sold its operations to an Israeli company on Friday, taking pains to deny it had succumbed to pressure from the international boycott, divestments and sanctions campaign.
But the firm had lost contracts in South Africa, Latin America, Europe, the US and Arab states because of its complicity in Israeli crimes.
Palestine Solidarity Campaign’s Terry Gallogly said: “The announcement is a victory, first and foremost, for the Palestinian prisoners’ movement, whose hunger strikes and other collective struggles inspired years of boycotts and divestments in solidarity.”
