Everton are lining up a move for Celtic midfielder James Forrest during the summer transfer window, as a replacement for on-loan Barcelona midfielder Gerard Deulofeu who is expected to return to the La Liga side at the end of the season.
Forrest is valued at around £7 million and has over two years left on his current contract, but the Scottish international’s season has been plagued by injury playing only 27 games this season in all competitions, last playing in the 5-0 win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle back in March.
Despite this Everton manager Roberto Martinez is still keen on the 22 year old.
Meanwhile, PFA Scotland young player of the year Andrew Robertson could find himself moving to Merseyside also, as Martinez has the Dundee United defender in his sights.
The Goodison Park manager watched the former Queens Park defender back in January and the Tannadice side are expecting a host of bids for the 19 year old, who has been a revelation following his move from the Third Division side in the summer.
