Self-rule already in Britain

EmailWhile it's on the back burner for a while, it's perhaps time for a fresh look at the issue of independence for Scotland.
At present we have the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands, which operate with a degree of independence from Whitehall.
And both Menwith Hill, run as a dollar economy, and the City of London, a tax haven, work in a way that implies independence without so much as a whimper from David Cameron or Ed Miliband.
