Britain's beaches are cleaner than ever, but marine experts warned today that recent rain could sully them with raw sewage and pollution from towns.
The Marine Conservation Society said a record number of beaches had got top marks for water quality in the latest Good Beach Guide.
Two-thirds of Britain's 754 beaches were rated "excellent" but four at Blackpool and St Annes were dirtier than acceptable.
