World champ Hendry quits

Wednesday 02 May 2012

Seven-time snooker world champion Stephen Hendry ended his career on Tuesday night after a 13-2 world championship quarter-final defeat to Stephen Maguire at the Crucible in Sheffield.

He said it was an "easy decision" as he wasn't enjoying playing or practising, though the 42-year-old still managed a 147 break in the first round of the tournament.

Hendry will now jet off to China to take a job promoting pool.
