The United Reformed Church has joined Quakers and Unitarians in allowing gay and lesbian couples to hold civil partnership registrations in their chapels.
In the free church tradition, each chapel can determine if they wish to allow these services at their discretion concerning the couple - just as they would with heterosexual couples getting married.
Meanwhile, the Church of England has declined to authorise any of its churches to carry out thes services.
