Palestine solidarity campaigners in Yorkshire are to stage a rally at a museum staging an exhibition sponsored by French multinational Veolia over its operations in the occupied territories.
Halifax Friends of Palestine will target Bankfield Textile Museum in Halifax on Saturday September 15, when the museum starts a two-month run of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition.
Veolia operates a tramway linking illegal settlements in east Jerusalem with Israel.
It provides waste disposal services to illegal settlements in the occupied Jordan valley and also runs bus services connecting illegal settlements to Israel.
An international boycott of Veolia to persuade it to withdraw is currently under way.
Halifax Friends of Palestine said: "We will be holding a rally outside the museum at 12 noon on the opening day to 'Say No to Veolia' and show our opposition to their attempts to boost their image by sponsoring this exhibition."
The group will also hold a public meeting in Halifax Central Library at 7pm on Monday October 1 about the illegal settlements and Veolia's involvement in them.
