Barton: I'll emulate Waddle and co in France

FOOTBALL: Joey Barton hopes to follow in the footsteps of other British players to have enjoyed success in France, having completed his move to Marseille.

The QPR midfielder switched nations on Friday on a and said: "English players have done well in France.

"(Joe) Cole, (Tony) Cascarino, (Chris) Waddle, Trevor Steven - French football is top-level football."
