Sky Blues to speak to target Phil Brown

Tuesday 11 September 2012

FOOTBALL: Phil Brown was set to be interviewed by Coventry City over the vacant manager's job at the Ricoh Arena.

Reports claimed that the Sky Blues, who are looking for a replacement for Andy Thorn after he left the club last month, were set to hold talks with the former Hull manager.

At the weekend, Coventry development director Steve Waggott said that a list of candidates had been whittled down to nine, with all to be met by the club over the next few days.

Brown, who has been out of the game since leaving Preston North End last December, is believed to be keen on the role.

Caretaker Coventry boss Richard Shaw is expected to be interviewed, while Jim Magilton is another out-of-work manager linked with the position.
