Social workers in Britain are forming an international link with their counterparts in Palestine with an event herald the start of the Palestine-UK Social Work Network.
Organisers said yesterday the Social Work in Palestine event, which is open and free, "is to bring together social workers, students, managers, academics, policymakers and other interested people, to look at the links that are being forged between social workers in the UK and social workers in Palestine, and to help continue to forge these links."
The event takes place at Durham University on November 2.
Foreign Minister Alistair Burt's admission that the Cameron government has "supported" a survey of attitudes to US drone strikes in Pakistan's tribal areas amounts to a tacit admission of British involvement.
