Australian legend Matthew Hayden retires

CRICKET: Ex-Australia Test opener Matthew Hayden confirmed his retirement from all forms of cricket today.

Hayden, who quit Tests and one-day matches in 2010, said he won't play a second season for the Brisbane Heat in the Twenty20 Big Bash League.

The 40-year-old averaged 50.73 from 103 Tests, hitting 30 centuries with a top score of 380.
