Teen arrested over stabbing

Friday 28 September 2012

A 14-year-old girl has been arrested in connection with the murder of a 15-year-old boy who was stabbed to death in Brixton, south London.

Scotland Yard said officers were called to reports of a disturbance on the Loughborough Estate on Thursday night.

Emergency services found the boy with serious stab wounds and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believed they knew the victim's identity and were awaiting formal identification. Next of kin has been informed.

A post-mortem examination was taking place at Greenwich mortuary.

The incident is not believed to be gang-related.
