Railway workers will target train stations across Britain on Friday, demanding services be brought back under public ownership and control.
The Action for Rail campaign will be up at the crack of dawn to leaflet travellers as part of a national day of action.
They will distribute leaflets urging the public to write to their MPs to call for an end to above-inflation pay rises, proper staffing of trains and stations, retaining ticket offices and making public ownership an option in the government's franchise review.
Members of the public are being encouraged to help out and a full list of stations and times can be found at actionforrail.org.
Fire Minister Brandon Lewis probably had a fair idea what Sir Ken Knight would deliver when he asked him to conduct an "independent" report into fire and rescue services in England.
