Students, pensioners and workers will join forces in Sheffield on Thursday to launch an action plan against government cuts.
Activists, furious over the coalition's austerity agenda and tuition fees increase, have decided to hold a joint conference to discuss how the cuts are hitting jobs and services across the community, including students, workers, pensioners, the disabled and the unemployed.
The meeting will also be a rallying call for the TUC national demonstration on October 20.
Sheffield trades union council president Martin Mayo said: "It is vitally important that students and workers join together to fight austerity. We are urging everyone to come together to march on October 20."
The meeting will take place Thursday evening in the auditorium at Sheffield University union at 7pm. For transport details ring (07449) 324-813 or email sheffieldanticutscampaign@gmail.com
