Two people have been arrested after arriving on a flight into Heathrow airport on suspicion of committing terrorism offences.
The pair, both aged 26, remained in custody today following their arrests by officers from the Metropolitan Police's Counter Terrorism Command on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.
Scotland Yard said the man and woman had arrived at Heathrow on a flight from Egypt, but their nationality had not been disclosed by last night.
Officers were later searching two residential addresses in east London under the Terrorism Act in connection with their inquiries.
