Civil service is being punished for its resistance

Tuesday 16 October 2012

Along with cuts to their pensions, stagnant pay and huge levels of job cuts, civil servants are now to have presumably longer working hours, less annual leave, less sick pay, cuts to childcare and various other restrictions.

This attack on the government's own employees beggars belief and seems quite vindictive, as opposed to being about cutting costs.

Could it be that civil servants are being punished more than some other public-sector workers?

And might this be because of the staunch stand they, as an organised group of workers in the PCS, have made against this government?
