Library is a great space for public

EmailI recently visited Friern Barnet Library in north London. Not long ago it was closed by the local authority as a result of coalition cuts.
It was emptied of books in a midnight raid to avoid demonstrations by local residents and the building was scheduled for sale.
Local activists and Occupy took over the building and have reopened the library on a full-time basis.
The atmosphere was wonderful - lots of laughter and the sound of children and their parents choosing books to borrow from the "Free Library." Weekly yoga sessions and concerts make this a true community venture.
Donations of books will be welcomed between 11am and 7pm daily (not Sundays), new or used and loved. You can find the library on Facebook.
My short time with them was a wonderful experience. I recommend a visit.
