Congratulations to all involved in mighty edition of the Star

Wednesday 24 October 2012

A big well done to all the Morning Star staff involved in producing what was a mighty edition of the paper for the TUC demonstration on October 20.

It was great to see staff and volunteers handing out complimentary copies - courtesy of the unions - along the route. And it was heartening to speak to marchers who took copies of the paper and to listen to the positive comments about the paper.

I wish we could do an edition like that six days a week, every week!

Let's hope the free copies generate more regular readers, supporters and subscribers - we need them badly, as our chairman Bob Oram makes clear in his interview (M Star October 23).

Thanks Bob for the kind comments about Unite and union supporters.

The edition of October 22 was also a fine edition with by far the best coverage of the march and demo in the printed media.

The unstinting support of the Star in the fight by unions against austerity and the Tory toffs is essential if we are to see off this rag-bag coalition of no-hopers.
