We need day to remember the freedom fighters

EmailGiven the pro-war propaganda surrounding remembrance Sunday, isn't it about time the left had its own remembrance commemoration remembering those brave men and women who lost their lives fighting British imperialism.
The conscientious objectors and socialists who refused to take part in the imperialist war 1914-18.
The freedom fighters of the Spanish civil war.
Those who lost their lives in the people's war against fascism 1939-45.
And comrades like Blair Peach who sacrificed their lives fighting fascism.
