The Woman charged with skeleton sex story (M Star November 22) reminded me of an important part of our royal heritage.

The late Princess Diana and her sister-in-law the Duchess of York (aka Fergie) are both descended from the Duchess of Cleveland, Barbara Villiers (1641-1709), mother of six children out of wedlock to Charles II.

An uninhibited and forceful woman, she expressed her irreverence for the established church, according to Lord Coleraine, by biting the penis off a recently exhumed bishop.
