Fifa set for goal-line technology test

Wednesday 05 December 2012

Football: Fifa secretary general Jerome Valcke hailed “a kind of revolution” as the football world prepared for tomorrow's introduction of goal-line technology.

Fifa will test two systems — British-based Hawk-Eye and GoalRef from Germany — at the Club World Cup in Japan, beginning tomorrow when Sanfrecce Hiroshima face Auckland City.

Valcke said: “It’s a big day. This is a kind of revolution.”
