Labour is letting its supporters badly down

Sunday 09 December 2012

Why oh why does the Labour Party not do itself some good by trying to help those of us who have repeatedly encouraged people to vote for them in by-elections such as Rotherham?

It's surely peverse that that Labour ignores the pleas of those trying to help the party when choosing its election candidates.

This was abundantly clear in Rotherham.

Now is the time that Labour should at least choose someone with a trade union and/or an industrial background to help even up the overwhelming number of MPs who have no background of this kind.

The reverse is only to strengthen the case that Labour is for manipulation of the selection process, doing unnecessary harm to itself and its allies.

The trade union leaderships are no better, paying the piper and allowing him to call the tune.

If you can't get one of your members selected to represent Rotherham then where on earth are you going to get one?
