A 60-year-old campaigner is due to appear at Hastings magistrates' court on Monday over her role in peaceful protests against the planned Bexhill-Hastings Link Road.
Writer Rosamond Palmer was arrested on December 17 2012 in Sidley, Bexhill, where trees were being felled to make way for the road.
The St Leonards on Sea resident has been charged with "obstructing/disrupting a person engaged in lawful activity" and "resisting/obstructing an enforcement officer … engaged to execute a High Court writ."
Ms Palmer said: "I won't condone our council tax being squandered on a road that will make our local traffic problems worse and destroy a beautiful valley."
Tree-felling along the route of the planned road is expected to start again no later than January 7.
An alcohol-free protest camp including tree houses and at least one tunnel has been in place in Crowhurst since December 21.
A government guided by common sense would respond to news that publicly owned Royal Mail has increased profits to £403 million by scrapping plans to flog off the service.
