Shi'ites refuse to bury dead

Friday 11 January 2013

Shi'ites in south-western Pakistan today refused to bury their dead from a brutal terror attack until the government protects them from Sunni militants.

More than 120 people were killed in bombings on Thursday.

The worst was at a snooker club in Queeta, where 86 died.

Many were killed by a second bomb as they rushed to help wounded people.

Elsewhere in Quetta, 12 people were killed and more than 40 hurt after a bomb hidden in a bag blew up a vehicle carrying soldiers.

And a third blast targeted a mosque in the north-western city of Mingora, killing 22 people and wounding more than 70.

Sunni militant group the United Baloch Army said it carried out the Quetta attacks.
