The National Audit Office revealed at the weekend it is to investigate a secret deal to sell off a Glasgow Remploy factory's assets with the loss of 47 jobs for disabled workers.
Westminster public accounts committee chairwoman Margaret Hodge has given the public spending watchdog papers related to the shady deal, which will see the Glasgow factory closed and its order book handed to privateer R Healthcare.
Glasgow Springburn Labour MP Willie Bain had raised the issue in a Commons debate and welcomed the decision.
"It is still not clear what the final rules for bids from interested parties are. It may turn out they have been broken in this case," he said.
The factory makes wheelchairs for the NHS but is due to close in March.
