Most vulnerable in Britain need to be protected from IDS

While the rich get bonuses, the poorest have their welfare benefits cut, but in the mass media, such injustices are swept under the carpet.

People do not like to mention the suffering of the poorest. It is not polite.

A friend of mine was given a DWP medical test when he did, in fact, have cancer, which was diagnosed by a fully qualified hospital consultant.

However, my friend failed the medical test and was deemed to be fit for work.

After much hardship he successfully appealed against the DWP decision, but it's wrong that sick people like him are forced to go through long periods of worry and anxiety.

Let's face it, Mr Duncan Smith - there are people who cannot work because of their medical condition.

They are some of the most vulnerable people in society but yet are often the people that the government brand as skivers.

Mr Duncan Smith and his millionaire colleagues have little sympathy for the sick and the poor.

For this government - Conservative and Liberal Democrat - the only people who really exist are the hardworking families whom they would encourage to work until they drop.
