A Liar's Autobiography: The Untrue Story Of Monty Python's Graham Chapman

Directed by Bill Jones, Jeff Simpson & Ben Timlett
Thursday 07 February 2013

This isn't a Monty Python film but it certainly contains its own mad and irreverent humour.

It's a biopic of Graham Chapman from the Monty Python series and the plot stays close to his life as he progresses from bookworm kid to Cambridge University where he gets to work on sketches with fellow student John Cleese.

Mixing interviews, archive footage and references to classic Python sketches it reveals Chapman as maintaining a cheerfully stiff upper lip while underlining the darkness lurking behind the humour and the true shadow on the artistic soul.

Great entertainment.
