Millwall fan charged with racist abuse

Football: A 53-year-old man has been charged after TV footage appeared to show Millwall fans hurling racist abuse at Leeds striker El-Hadji Diouf.

Gerrard Scanlon, 53, from Enfield, north London, is accused of using threatening, abusive or insulting words.

He is due to appear at Bromley magistrates' court on February 27.

Glasgow on Youth Olympics shortlist

Athletics: Glasgow was included on a three-city shortlist to host the 2018 Youth Olympics today.

International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge confirmed the Scottish city's inclusion along with Argentina's Buenos Aires and Colombia's Medellin.

A final decision will be taken in July.

Sky say sorry for holocaust gaffe

Football: Sky Sports apologised after former ref Dermot Gallagher used the word "holocaust" today when discussing Celtic's 3-0 Champions League defeat by Juventus.

Presenters Rob Wooton and Hayley McQueen said sorry on air minutes later and Sky added: "We have apologised on behalf of him and Sky Sports for any offence caused."
