Help bring Aamer home from gulag

Friday 15 February 2013

A report from the Open Society Justice Initiative (M Star February 7) outlines evidence that over 50 countries participated in the secret kidnap, rendition and torture of thousands of Muslim men following September 11 2001.

This report confirms evidence given by British Guantanamo prisoners and their shameful treatment was authorised by their own government.

This latest report should prompt government action to demand the release of Shaker Aamer - the last British resident still unlawfully held in Guantanamo.

Shaker Aamer faces no charge or trial, his name is on a recently published list of 55 prisoners who have been cleared for transfer from Guantanamo.

On Wednesday Save Shaker Aamer Campaign supporters marked his 11 years incarceration in Guantanamo. Will the government still stand by and do nothing to end this terrible injustice?
