Zyuganov renews left fight

Monday 25 February 2013

Communist Party of the Russian Federation leader Gennady Zyuganov issued a rallying call to renew the struggle for socialism today.

He opened a round-table discussion attended by 95 communist and workers' parties together with delegations from the World Federation of Trade Unions, the Women's International Democratic Federation and the World Peace Council.

"The idea of justice is immortal," he said at the close of his party's 15th congress. "It moves the masses. The ideals of democracy and respect for human labour, as immortal friendship of peoples."

He said common actions towards renewing the "great war" against capitalism would be discussed at this year's annual meeting of communist and workers' parties in Portugal on November 9-10.

Foreign guests praised the high number of people in their thirties and forties in the new party leadership.
