Justice system worthless if people held without trial

EmailWhatever the relative merits or otherwise of trial by jury or judge (M Star February 22), it is all academic if detention without trial, or even charge, is allowed to continue or indeed be extended as proposed by the government.
So I wholeheartedly support Joy Hurcombe (M Star February 22) calling on readers to sign the government e-petition demanding the release of Shaker Aamer who has spent 11 years in Guantanamo without trial or charge.
