Warning from Pythagoras

Tuesday 26 February 2013

To kill horses for meat or to slaughter animals in Africa, solely for their body parts, has one motivation - profit.

It brings to mind something that Pythagoras, the ancient Greek philosopher and mathematician, said: "As long as man continues to be the destroyer of lower living beings he will never know peace. For as long as men massacre animals they will kill each other."

It appears that Pythagoras's prophecy and his warning made 2,500 years ago still has relevance today.
