Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters (15)

Hansel and Gretel are ruthless bounty hunters hell-bent on retribution who kill witches in this silly but hugely fun version of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale.
Its 3D medieval setting takes place 15 years after the pair's harrowing childhood ordeal and follows the two as they end up in a familiar wooded town where their past comes back to haunt them.
Although full of anachronisms, it's a film which has its tongue firmly in its cheek.
Oscar-nominated Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton make a badass Hansel and Gretel armed with old fashioned weapons packed with modern firepower. But their US accents and propensity to swear do tend to jar.
Violent but wonderfully entertaining - provided you leave your scepticism at home.
