George Groves splits with promoter Frank Warren

Londoner taken off March 16 bill
Sunday 03 March 2013

Boxing: Promoter Frank Warren confirmed today that super-middleweight George Groves would no longer be fighting on his March 16 Wembley bill.

The Londoner had been due to fight Mohamed Ali Ndiaye for the vacant European Super-Middleweight title.

But, amid rumours that Groves is to join promotional outfit Matchroom, a statement from Warren read: “Groves has stated that he is not interested in boxing for the EBU title at this moment and would like to take his choice of fights in another direction.”
