MPs call for plan B on energy

EmailMPs condemned the government today for not having a plan B for future energy needs as its proposals to build more nuclear power stations seem likely to collapse.
The parliamentary energy and climate change select committee criticised the government's failure to come up with contingency plans for energy supply if it couldn't develop new nuclear power stations.
The Nuclear Free Local Authorities group called on Westminster to follow the example of Germany by investing in the development of a wide range of renewable energy sources, introducing energy efficiency programmes and encourage increased investment into community-based micro-generation projects.
