Sport stories from around the world

Emmanuel Adebayor could miss Spurs-Inter clash

Football: Spurs striker Emmanuel Adebayor is a doubt for tomorrow night's first-leg clash with Inter Milan at White Hart Lane in the last 16 of the Europa League after injuring his knee in Sunday's win over Arsenal.

Mousa Dembele also came off during that match but he has been passed fit. Younes Kaboul, Sandro, Tom Huddlestone and Clint Dempsey are all out.

Injury clears way for Ronan O'Gara return

Rugby union: Ronan O'Gara could make an immediate return for Ireland in Saturday's Six Nations clash with France - just days after being dropped.

Paddy Jackson's hamstring strain could see Leinster's Ian Madigan start at fly-half, forcing a possible U-turn by coach Declan Kidney.

"Absolutely not would I mind asking Ronan back," said Kidney.

Sergio Parisse gets Barbarians call

Rugby union: The Barbarians have announced their first five world-class recruits to face the Lions in Hong Kong on June 1.

They are Italy captain Sergio Parisse, Azzurri tighthead prop Martin Castrogiovanni and French number eight Imanol Harinordoquy, plus Samoan scrum-half Kahn Fotuali'i and South African centre Jaque Fourie.
