Trying to live on £18 for a week is not the real thing

Sunday 10 March 2013

I have just read MP Helen Goodman's piece about her living on £18, the amount left to many benefit recipients (M Star March 7).

Good on her, but she survived only a week.

Now she returns to an income of £65,000 plus, huge expenses and the prospect of a golden pension.

As a socialist she should consider following the example of some MPs in Holland and some workers in Britain who take only the amount of the average salary and give the rest to those in poverty and agencies which help them.
